A Laing O'Rourke team has signed a deal with Scottish Water to deliver £450m of work on its Capital Investment Programme from April 2010 onwards.
The Thistle Water consortium, made up of Jacobs UK, Laing O’Rourke Infrastructure and Veolia Water UK, will form a joint venture with Scottish Water.
The team will work on water and waste water treatment facilities and infrastructure during the 2010 to 2015 investment period, when Scottish Water is investing £2.5bn in its infrastructure.
Scottish government minister for infrastructure, transport and climate change Stewart Stevenson welcomed the joint venture. He said: “This will enable Scottish Water - which plays a vital role in protecting public health, improving the environment and enabling development - to roll out its new investment programme and further support Scotland’s economic recovery.â€
Steve Hollingshead, Laing O’Rourke’s managing director of infrastructure services said: “We look forward to serving each and every community quickly and efficiently.â€
