Classic Excel specialises in suspended ceilings, dylining, interior fit outs and structural steel framing systems.
Founder and managing director David Jones is president of the National Specialist Construction Council -聽the trade group that represents聽subcontractors - and past president of the Association of Interior Specialists (AIS).
The company was established in 1983 under the original name of Classic Ceilings Ltd.
Administrators from Tait Walker Advisory Services were appointed to take over the affairs of the business on 19 October.
The Construction Index has asked Mr Jones for a comment, but has received no response.
