The contracts for Qatar Public Works Authority involve the  design and construction of tunnels with a combined contract value of approximately €550m, of which Bouygues Travaux Publics’ share is  roughly €285m. The north section (MTS01) will be 16km long and 3m wide. The south section (MTS03) will be 14km long and 4.5m wide.
Jean-Philippe Trin, deputy CEO with responsibility for Bouygues Travaux Publics, DTP and VSL, said: “For this ambitious project, we have developed an innovative technical solution that will enable us to address the customer’s concerns effectively and fully meet their expectations.â€
The contracts are part of the Inner Doha Resewerage Implementation Strategy (Idris), a project to cater for population growth by redesigning and expanding the system.
Handover is scheduled for 2019.
