Jarvie Plant Group, based in Grangemouth, has bought the new JCBs to support the expansion of its core plant fleet and growing depot network. It opened a new site in Dundee last year is opening another in Aberdeen this summer.
Supplied by dealer Scot JCB, the order includes: 3CX backhoe loaders, 2CX Streetmaster backhoe loaders, JS130 tracked excavators, 540-170 Loadalls, 535-95 Loadalls and JCB’s new series of 8-tonne midi excavators including 85Z-1 and 86C-1 models.
Jarvie business development director David Jarvie said: “We use JCB for a wide variety of equipment. There is excellent availability of JCB machines in Scotland which is not always the case with its competitors – so we can generally order machines as demand dictates.
“The extensive dealer network also ensures a rapid response and the back-up support is second to none – even in the remote areas in which some of our machines operate.
“JCB excavators are extremely strong and durable with the 86C-1 already our most popular machine. The new 8-tonne models have a larger digging area and greater capacity plus the new styling is very strong. Following requests from several customers we also have now added several JS220 models with dual flow hydraulics – enabling greater attachment utilisation including rotating grabs for demolition.â€
Jarvie Plant Group has more than 1,000 machines in its hire fleet, with sites at Cowdenbeath, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Irvine and Paisley as well as, Grangemouth, Dundee and Aberdeen.
