The residential development is where the Athletes’ Village was for London 2012. East Village is already home to more than 6,000 people across 2,818 homes, with planning consent for further phases in-line with the 2005 Stratford City Masterplan.
The work is due for completion in 2018 and includes two towers, at 30 and 26 storeys. Delancey and Qatari Diar are joint developers for the project, and Get Living London will manage the properties upon completion.
Stafford Lancaster, spokesperson for Qatari Diar Delancey, said: “Mace has demonstrated its expertise through its work on both the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the LLDC’s ongoing transformation of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We are looking forward to seeing how the team will bring this expertise and local knowledge to these new homes at East Village, further building on the strong residential legacy we have already achieved.â€
Mark Reynolds, chief executive at Mace, said: “This is a fantastic appointment for Mace as this development forms an important part of a legacy that is very close to our hearts, having worked on the London Olympic project from the beginning.â€
