The two-storey building is scheduled to open in September 2013 and was procured via the iESE (Improvement and Efficiency South East) framework.
The building has been designed with flexible workshops and teaching spaces, so that it can be adapted to changing future needs. It will showcase renewable technologies and is targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating.
Sustainable features include a small wind turbine, photo voltaic cells (solar panels), biomass heating, a geothermal heat pump, rainwater harvesting and the maximisation of natural daylight.

The project team includes architect HNW, quantity surveyor and project manager Davis Langdon, consulting engineers Campbell Reith and M&E consultant Hilson Moran.
