Working with developer Court Collaboration and local architect BPN, Shaylor will convert the 1960s commercial office space into apartments, worth £6.4m of the overall budget.
Franklin House, reportedly the birthplace of the Curly Wurly, will have 79 one and two-bedroom apartments, including four penthouse suites featuring internal courtyards. The property will be re-branded as The Franklin. Completion is scheduled for March 2016.
Shaylor chief executive Stephen Shaylor said: “We have significant experience in the housing sector and look forward to bringing The Franklin to life.â€

The contract is the latest in a string of commercial to residential projects Shaylor Group has been awarded nationally. Shaylor has recently completed two similar projects in Croydon with a combined value of approximately £6.5m. Work has recently started on a third residential conversion project in London to convert a former office block into more than 140 studios with a contract value of just under £5m.
