Modular construction specialist Reds10 has moved on site to start to putting together a new Officers鈥� Mess annex of 50 en-suite bedsits at RAF Cosford under a a 拢12m contract for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO).
The contract is one of the first to be awarded through the 拢1bn 鈥榮ingle living accommodation 鈥� programmatic approach framework alliance鈥�, which plans to create 16,000 new bedspaces for armed forces personnel over the next six years.
The accommodation will provide beds for 50 Royal Air Force personnel, as well as kitchenettes, communal space, equipment storage and laundry facilities. While the annex will be powered by air source heat pumps and solar panels, the layout is not of the new common design for single living accommodation.
RAF Cosford station commander Wing Commander Penny Brade said: "RAF Cosford has continued to grow in recent years. When complete, the new Officers鈥� Mess annex will have a hugely positive impact on those commissioned personnel living on the station and those who visit for courses and conferences.鈥�

Construction is now under way at the site and is expected to be completed by July 2026.
